Aleksei Martyniuk

Aleksei Martyniuk is a filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist. With the help of new media and technologies, he expands the boundaries of his own artistic practice. One of the topics artist deals with is cyclicity/iterativity in all its forms. His video works are kaleidoscopic collages, acting as a reaction to discoveries made or ongoing events. Through his narrative experiments, he plays with the repeatability of various phenomena and explores their possible interpretations. The created surreal worlds are Aleksei's attempts to redefine familiar things and place them in new contexts, push the boundaries of their perception, and involve the viewer in this game of meditation, self-reflection and experiences. Currently Aleksei is a student of the first in Russia practice-oriented master’s program «DA –Digital Art» at Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok.
